oldalbeyers

Al Beyers, Inc-Indoor Comfort Systems is a company with a solid background spanning three generations. Our success has been built on the basic premise of hard work and dedication.

Following the Great Depression of the early 1930’s, jobs were hard to come by. At sixteen, with an eighth grade education, Al Beyers found work with L.C. Lenz Plumbing in Janesville, Wisconsin. Digging ditches by hand and performing any odd job available, Mr. Beyers learned the basics of the mechanical trades. It was 1936.

Nineteen years later, L.C. Lenz Plumbing split the heating portion of the company from the plumbing division. Mr. Beyers, along with his wife Roberta, purchased the heating division in 1955 and started Al Beyers Heating. Soon, two additional tradesmen were hired and all four people worked out of their first office facility at 56 S. River St. in Janesville.

With an interest in the trade, good mechanical aptitude, and a desire to be involved with the family business, Bill McCue (Mr. And Mrs. Beyers’ son-in-law) joined the company in 1962.

The company moved its location to a newly developed part of the city in 1968. From this location, the company grew to six full-time employees. In 1978, Bill’s wife Linda joined the company.

Mr. and Mrs. McCue purchased the company from Mr. and Mrs. Beyers and incorporated the business in 1984. Al Beyers, Inc. Heating and Air Conditioning experienced the introduction of its third generation when the couples’ sons, Dan and Jim, joined the company by 1987.

In an effort to increase productivity and efficiency with add-on air conditioning and furnace replacements, a “mobile shop” was introduced into the fleet in 1994. This enabled custom installations to be performed at the jobsite. The company relocated to a newer facility featuring nearly 4000 square feet of production, storage, and office space in 1995.

Bryant Heating & Cooling Products’ highest award was issued the company for best business practices in 1996. Only eleven Bryant dealers in the nation earned The Medal-of-Excellence Award that year; we were proud to be one of them.

The company expanded its presence by establishing an office in the nearby community of Edgerton in 1997. Product displays are situated in a large windowed display on a busy street.

1999 was a very busy year. A second company, a Carrier dealership, was purchased. Al Beyers, Inc. Heating & Cooling bought Trieloff Mechanical Systems of Cambridge, Wisconsin. Later that year, the business was purchased by the McCue brothers from their parents and added Indoor Comfort Systems to the company name to better describe the scope of the company.

Today, Al Beyers, Inc-Indoor Comfort Systems has three locations and serves five counties with a staff of 15. We employ four NATE certified technicians and are a state licensed-nationally registered HVAC contractor. We would enjoy the opportunity to serve you…
